Space Mission Workshop Series at Visual Voice Lab

Gallery owner Bettina Forget curated a series of weekend workshops for the month of July which allow participants to engage with contemporary art practices and foster a deeper understanding of science-based art. The workshop themes include extraterrestrial architecture, sci-fi writing, and astronomical art.

Bettina Forget kicks off the Space Mission series with Moon Mission, a visual arts workshop which takes participants on a virtual lunar expedition. This is followed by Christina Ciardullo‘s extraterrestrial architecture workshop Designing New Worlds, where participants will design both an actual space mission as well as an extraterrestrial habitat. Award-winning author Eric Choi‘s Science Fiction Writing workshop provides both writing and publishing tips for aspiring sci-fi writers.

Just like contemporary art itself, Visual Voice Lab is about active creativity, discussion, experimentation and play. The workshops are open to anyone, and no prerequisite knowledge of art or science is necessary. The workshop groups are small, so places are limited.

A selection of images and texts created during the summer workshop series will be included in a dedicated ebook at the beginning of fall 2015.

Price for each individual Space Mission workshop: $195
